Biography

Andrea Perkins is the Awana Missionary serving the Heart of Texas. After growing up in Awana and having the privilege to serve as a leader and director in several Awana clubs, Andrea followed God's call to end her time as a Middle East Intelligence Analyst for the Department of Defense and to take up a full-time mission reaching the children and families of Texas with the Gospel.

Based in Waco, Andrea serves churches using Awana programs in 58 counties, including the Fort Worth, Austin, San Angelo, and College Station areas. She feels so blessed to be back in Waco and able to participate in activities at her alma mater, Baylor University. In 2020, Andrea adopted a sweet 12-year-old, Krislea, and in 2021 Andrea became a homeschool mom. Teaching a teenager is no joke, but the whole family loves the freedom of learning through travel in the Heart of Texas and beyond.

Ministry

AWANA is an exciting Bible club for boys and girls, from Pre-K (potty trained and 3 yrs old by September 1) - 12th grade. Here at Grace Bible Church, AWANA is our main children's and youth ministry.

AWANA meets on Wednesday nights at 6:15 PM.

The goal of AWANA is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ, and then train them to serve Him. We do this each Wednesday night through the teaching of God's Word, the memorization of Scripture, games, projects, and special event nights.
