Biography

Jonathan (USA) has been a global worker since 2008, serving in Russia (2008–2014) and the Czech Republic (2016–2022) where he was an instructor and academic dean both at the Samara Center for Biblical Training and the Czech Bible Institute. He was also a pastor in the Czech Republic and continues to teach as an adjunct professor at EBTC (European Bible Training Center).

Jonathan has an MDiv (Masters of Divinity) and a ThM (Master of Theology) from The Master’s Seminary (2000, 2003), as well as a PhD from Dallas Theological Seminary (2008). He is a fellow with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC), and has published, and Directive Biblical Counseling: Six Steps to Counseling Yourself and Others (to be released in 2026).

His wife Sharon has a degree in flute performance from The Master’s University (2000) and is also certified with ACBC. They have five children.

Ministry

Most expats move to Geneva for 2-4 years to then move on to another place of service. Our goal is to provide training to anyone desiring to be trained in a 2-to-4-year cycle, in the following areas:

  • Learning from our church history with an emphasis on Geneva’s Reformation with John Calvin (1509-1564) and its lasting effects on the world today.

• Evangelism and Basic Apologetics

  • The ABC’s of a simple crystal-clear Gospel presentation and how to defend one’s faith

• Conferences

  • Geneva Bible Church seeks to organize once or twice a year conferences on specific topics of vital interest.
